Dr. Daryl Merrill II
Dr. Daryl Merrill Jr. is Lead Pastor of Christian Life Church and an instructor at Christian Life College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Pastor Daryl did his postgraduate work at Cincinnati Bible Seminary, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in 1992 and went on to earn another Master’s degree in Religious Education in 1996. He has done masters and doctoral work at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. He graduated in May 2000 from the Graduate Theological Foundation with his doctorate degree.
He was licensed to preach in the spring of 1992 and was ordained into the ministry in January 1996. Pastor Daryl holds memberships in the Full Gospel Fellowship and Fellowship of Christian Assemblies.
Daryl’s heart is to see people continually grow deeper in their relationship with God. He is an especially effective speaker, and delivers the Word of God using a high level of scholastic preparation and great personal conviction from his heart. Through the ministry of the church and college, he has been able to teach and minister across the US and in many countries around the world. Pastor Daryl currently serves on the board of Mission Possible, leads Christian Life College’s Ascension Convention, and is the author of Teams That Work.

He and his wife Leslie have been married coming up on twenty years and have three sons, Luke, Matthew, and Mark.
Dr. Daryl R. Merrill
Dr. Daryl R. Merrill is our Senior Executive Pastor/Founder and has served Christian Life Church in that capacity since its founding on January 1, 1976. He also serves as President Emeritus and Chairman of the Board of Christian Life College, which shares its facilities with Christian Life Church. Pastor Merrill received a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Southwestern Assembly of God College. He completed a second Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois Chicago and received a Master of Arts degree in History from Northeastern Illinois University. Dr. Merrill has also completed his Doctoral degree.
He was ordained into the ministry in 1952. Rev. Merrill served for many years as an advisor for the North Suburban Chicago area chapter of Women’s Aglow. His wife Gerry is a registered nurse and is active in all phases of the church. They have two married children; their son is Dr. Daryl Merrill II, and their daughter, Jodi.
Pastor Merrill’s teaching work, along with his pastoral and church-related experience, have given him an understanding and a burden for the Church of Jesus Christ. Pastor and Mrs. Merrill were raised in pastors’ homes, so they bring a special understanding of the Ministry and the Word of God. They share a special sensitivity and appreciation for the charismatic move of the Holy Spirit flowing in the Body of Christ today.
A clear vision and direction characterizes Christian Life Church, unwavering through Pastor Merrill’s leadership. The Merrills have established principles from the beginning of their ministry in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, and these principles are serving as convictions that form the basis for all aspects of ministry here. Christian Life Church is best described in the four symbols: A worshipping church, a teaching church, a caring church, and a sharing church.
Rev. Fred Joob
Rev. Fred Joob, our Senior Associate Pastor, also serves Christian Life College as the Chairman of the Christian Education Department. Pastor Joob did his undergraduate work in Religious Studies at the University of Michigan and went on to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, graduating in 1977 with a Master of Divinity degree with a major in Christian Education.
He was dedicated to preach in 1974 and was ordained into the ministry in 1981. Over these years, he has served in the capacities of Youth Pastor, serves as a faculty member of Christian Life College, and now is Senior Associate Pastor.
Pastor Joob is skilled in music ministry, serving on occasion as worship leader and vocal soloist, and is also active in vocal ensemble work and choir. He has acted in several dramatic roles in church performances as well.
He and his wife Linda have two married children. Pastor Joob is frequently requested as a special speaker. He has an immense gift of simplifying spiritual concepts with an up front, plain-speaking style peppered with good humor.
Rev. Harry Schmidt
Rev. Harry Schmidt is President of Christian Life College. Pastor Schmidt graduated from Chicago Bible College (now Christian Life College) in 1972 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, and has supplemented his education at Olivet Nazarene University.
He was dedicated to preach in 1972 and was ordained into the ministry that same year. Pastor Schmidt began his ministry in 1972 as Senior Pastor at Gateway Church in Momence, Illinois. Following a successful pastorate there, he followed the leading of the Lord in 1983 to become Associate Pastor here at Christian Life Church.
He serves as Regional Representative to the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies, and serves as First Vice President for the Full Gospel Fellowship. He is the director of Ascension Convention, the outstanding youth convention held every Easter Week since the mid-1980s. He is also Vice President of Mission Possible Organization, an outstanding foreign missions support ministry.
Pastor Schmidt has an unmistakable calling in support of missions works. His work with Mission Possible, along with his work for the college, has sent him across the nation and around the world in service to the Lord. He has distinguished himself in leadership training, having guided many into becoming leaders of excellence.
Pastor Schmidt was called into the ministry at age 12, and began actively preaching at the age of 14. He and his wife Donna were married in 1977, and they have a young adult daughter, Jennifer. Pastor Schmidt is frequently requested as a special speaker. His work overseas is a sought-after sermon topic, and he is excited and enthusiastic about sharing his experiences from the works of God’s hand.
Rev. Mike Bell
Michael Bell is the youth pastor of Ignite Student Ministries. He is a graduate of Christian Life College earning his BA in Ministerial Studies. Along with leading ignite, Michael also works in the student services department at Christian Life College.
Michael has been involved in church and para-church youth ministry for over fifteen years. He has served as a youth pastor in Davenport, IA and in the Joliet, IL area. Michael met his wife, Christina while working with low-income/at-risk youth at Youth Hope in Moline, IL.
Michael has answered God's call to return to youth ministry after working in the educational field over the past year. He is excited to see God impact the lives of youth as they hear and live out the truth of His Word. Michael's passion is to equip students with the ability to answer others who question their faith in Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:15)
Michael is married to Christina and the proud father of two boys H.T. and Eli.
Worship & Arts
LeAnn has been leading worship for over 30 years. She was the primary worship leader at Christian Life Church in Mt. Prospect, IL for 22 years and is honored to assume this role once again in 2012.
LeAnn has been privileged to lead worship for various pastoral and youth conventions, ladies conferences and worship symposiums. She has led and traveled with music groups both nationally and internationally.
For over 18 years, LeAnn has taught music and worship classes at Christian Life College. She was honored to have joined the staff of All Nations Community Church as the Worship Coordinator and primary Worship Leader for 2 years in August of 2010.
